In this course, students acquire fundamental skills in the use of
AutoCAD to produce industrial, architectural, and engineering drawings.
Course topics include AutoCAD features, commands, and tools for drawing
and dimensioning techniques.
LEARNING OUTCOMES & ASSESSMENTS
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to
Analyze and evaluate the requirements of a particular
project and on the basis of an information plan and create a set of
drawings necessary to produce a building or structure. This will be
assessed with a project, scored with a rubric.
Solve complex graphic problems and communicate ideas
in the technical fields of architecture, engineering, and manufacturing,
using design tools, decision analysis techniques, computer aided
drafting, documentation and evaluation. This will be assessed with
a project, scored with a rubric.
Assemble drawings in industry standard plan form. This
will be assessed with a project, scored with a rubric.
Select the type of units appropriate to the scope of
project and dimension all parts as well as the whole in order to
translate it as drawings. This will be assessed with a project, scored
with a rubric.
