Game Production and Workflow

CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a course in game design project planning and production through hands-on experience.  Students will work in teams to design and complete a game project, providing each student with portfolio preparation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES & ASSESSMENTS

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to

  1. Develop a game design project concept that reflects audience needs, technical requirements, and market research. This will be assessed with a project, scored with a rubric.

  2. Create a game design project proposal that includes an abstract, information and interface design concepts, marketing and distribution plan, and a budget. This will be assessed with a project, scored with a rubric.

  3. Communicate effectively with a design team during various phases of production. This will be assessed with a project, scored with a rubric.

  4. Create, test, and evaluate a game design project prototype and assess peer performance. This will be assessed with a project, scored with a rubric.
