Two Dimensional Design

CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a beginning level studio class which introduces a fundamental understanding and usage of the elements and principles of two dimensional design theory and color theory as they relate to the composition of two dimensional images.

LEARNING OUTCOMES & ASSESSMENTS

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to

  1. Identify, define, and apply the concepts and terminology related to the Elements and Principles of Two Dimensional Design Theory and Color Theory

  2. Apply the concepts defined in Two Dimensional Design Theory in the planning, creating, composing, and analyzing of two dimensional images

  3. Apply traditional mediums and techniques of two dimensional image making as introduced, demonstrated, and explained in the course in order to create and compose two dimensional images.
