Digital Animation Program

The Digital Animation program at Cerro Coso College is a year-long, intensive program that teaches students digital animation with a focus in either Game Design or Motion Graphics. The program is designed to afford students the opportunity to develop the necessary foundation skills, master the tools and processes, and nurture their artistry and creative vision. Students will work alongside experienced professionals and undergo standard production experiences in the classroom that reflect industry needs and current industry trends. Web Design Program

The Web Design Program at Cerro Coso College teaches students the fundamentals of web design as well as effective communication. Students who complete this training will be qualified to create website content composed of digital graphics, full-motion video, animation, text, 3-D content, and interactive media. They will have a working knowledge of web technologies, and will be able to interface with information technology professionals on these topics. They will also have a firm understanding of the emerging technologies involved with broadband media delivery. Media Arts Experiential Learning Project

The Media Arts Experiential Learning Communities Webcasting Center will provide nontraditional forms of instruction that includes internships and experiential learning opportunities, individualized instructional contracts that require students to develop learning objectives, and the development of interpersonal skills and work place SCANS competencies. This project will develop a model for increasing access to vocational programs in rural colleges while supporting multiple learning styles through a mix of interactive tools, learning resources, and a virtual learning community environment that includes classmates, intra-disciplinary faculty, industry partners, student services and human resources.

Local students onsite in the webcasting center, and distant students at various centers across the vast service area, will collaborate in a synchronized course delivery utilizing real-time delivery technologies on the internet. Experiential learning and collaborative project design will be facilitated at all sites by the learning communities, to include nontraditional forms of student services support and faculty training through professional development.
