CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course presents the principles and theories underlying the design,
construction, function and operation of the automotive brake system. This
course prepares students for ASE testing in brake systems.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and theory underlying
the design, construction and operation of various automotive brake
systems and components that relate to brake diagnosis, maintenance, and
repair. This will be assessed through direct observation, scored with a
rubric.
- Practice clean and safe working habits that are consistent with
trade practices. This will be assessed through direct observation,
scored with a rubric.
- Access shop-service manuals, catalogs, flat rate manuals and other
reference materials to formulate solutions to diagnostic problems. This
will be assessed through direct observation, scored with a rubric.
