CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course focuses on the development of skills in removing and replacing, repairing, adjusting and servicing drive train components in automatic transmissions. 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and theory underlying the design, construction and operation of the various power train components.  This will be assessed through direct observation, scored by a rubric.
  2. Apply safe, clean, trade-like working habits.   This will be assessed through direct observation, scored by a rubric.
  3. Access shop-service manuals, catalogs, flat rate manuals and other reference materials to formulate solutions to diagnostic problems.  This will be assessed through direct observation, scored by a rubric.  
  4. Access testing equipment related to drive train components in automatic transmissions, and diagnose performance problems.  This will be assessed through direct observation, scored by a rubric.
