CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This hands-on computer course is designed to provide an intermediate understanding of word processing concepts using Microsoft Word. Learners create, edit, and format documents including a business plan, form letters, mailing labels, and learn how to collaborate with others on the creation of complex documents.  This course completes preparation for the core level Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam for Microsoft Word.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Apply intermediate word processing formatting features to create styles, outlines, tables, table of contents, as well as advanced merge functions for form letters and mailing labels.
  2. Collaborate for effective team creation of documents
  3. Integrate elements of office products such as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with word processing documents.
  4. Distribute word documents as web pages.
  5. Determine and apply problem solving techniques using Help and reference material for successful creation of intermediate business documents using Microsoft Office products.
