Introduction to Structured Programming with Visual Basic
CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an introduction to object-oriented programming and the
integrated development environment (IDE) of Visual Basic, including
fundamentals, logic, algorithm development, classes and objects.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Define and apply the fundamentals, logic and syntax of Visual
Basic programming.
Assessment of Outcome: This will be
assessed through creation of a basic Visual Basic program, as
evaluated by a rubric.
- Identify the terminology associated with object-oriented
programming.
Assessment of Outcome:
This will be assessed by a score of at least 70%
on an object oriented programming terminology examination.
- Develop, design and code Graphic User Interface (GUI)
applications using the Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
Assessment of Outcome: This will be
assessed through a final project, as evaluated by a rubric.
- Analyze program code.
Assessment of Outcome:
This will be assessed by a score of at least 70%
on code analysis examination.
- Interpret and use controls, variables, selection structures,
repetition structures, sub and function procedures, arrays,
structures and sequential files, classes and objects.
Assessment of Outcome: student will
design and code a final program of moderate difficulty using
appropriate Visual Basic code, as assessed by a rubric.
