Web Application Development Using PHP
 

CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION:

An introduction to the use of the PHP platform to develop dynamic web applications. Covers the origins, syntax and structure of PHP, as well as the PHP-specific commands and objects and their use in PHP development.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Discuss the history and development of the PHP platform.
  2. Analyze, design and configure PHP on a Web Server.
  3. Create basic PHP scripts using proper syntax.
  4. Discuss variable use and data types in PHP.
  5. Design complex PHP scripts using functions, control structures and arrays.
  6. Design complex PHP scripts to capture and process form input.
  7. Plan and configure a mySQL database.
  8. Plan and design PHP scripts to read from and write to a mySQL database.
