Spring 2007 C.N.A. Applicants

At this time we are asking all Spring
2007 applicants to complete ONLY the Cerro Coso Community College
Certified Nursing Aide application and return to Pat Duran in the
Counseling Center. The Live Scan fingerprinting requirement as well
as the Department of Health Services application completion may be
requested at a later date. If you have already completed this
application process, please keep your receipts, as they may be
requested at a later date. If you have any questions, please contact
Pat Duran in the
Counseling Center.

Vocational Nursing

Applicants for the
Vocational Nursing Program, please note that the application filing
period is approaching soon! Applications will be accepted in the
Counseling Center from February 27 through April 3, 2006 for the August
2006 start class.

Introducing
a new LVN-ADN program!
 The program is an LVN to RN/ADN
Distance Education Program via Interactive TV (ITV) through
Bakersfield College and Cerro Coso Community College in
collaboration with Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. Those interested
must currently hold an LVN license and have completed all
prerequisites prior to the start of the nursing courses. The start
date for the classes will be Fall 2006. The course will be complete
at the end of the Spring Semester 2007.

NOTE: If a student is taking a prerequisite LVN class during the
Spring 2006 semester, an unofficial transcript showing the
prerequisite/s for that semester will suffice. However, if the applicant
is chosen to become a Student Vocational Nurse, a formal, offical
college transcript will be required before formal admission into the VN
Program is granted.

classroom lectures and hospital-based clinical experiences, nursing
education has been a cornerstone of traditional education. The need for
nurses and the lack of nurse educators have forced changes in the
approaches to teaching nursing and other health career courses.
