Work Based Learning: DMA Project

Mojave Airport Logo

Project Overview

The Digital Media Arts team worked on concepts for a new logo for the Mojave Airport/Civilian Flight Test Center in Mojave, California. Working from an existing design they were charged with bringing the design more 'up-to-date'. Pat Clark, a Media Arts design intern was the lead designer on this project.

Fonr Options

Please review some suggested 'futuristic' fonts available. There are several options shown here. If there are any fonts that you'd like to see on any of the logo's above please let us know via the discussion group. The discussion group is checked daily. When viewing the font options, consider the fonts viewed for not only the main CFTC font, but also as a possibility for a secondary font for the Mojave Airport/ Industrial Park portion of the logo.

Discussion Forum

We encouraged the use of the discussion group to communicate ideas or suggestions regarding the logos and fonts so that all members are able to be aware of conversations taking place regarding this. Since there is a team of designers involved in this group it also helps to communicate ideas to all of the designers at once.

(We had to disable the discussion forum, but here is a copy of the conversation)

I like what I'm seeing as far as the designs are going. However I would like to see the MOJAVE AIRPORT as the Main point and Civilian Flight Test Center/ Industrial Park as the secondary points.

Would it be possible to make this change on the logo's and re-post them?

Jim,

Would you like to see the change on all the logos or just a specific few? If there are any particular logos you are leaning towards we can focus on those, or show you all the options again.

To all,

How are we doing with color? We have a couple variations of blue in our samples. We also are using both black and grey as potential con trails, any preference?

Would you prefer a two color or three color logo? Technically when going to print the grey would be considered 'black' so it would be a two color for print logo, but visually it would be three colors.

Any input would be valuable. Thank you.

Cori, Sorry for taking so long to reply. If possible I would like to see Mojave Airport as the large or main lettering on all the logo's.

Thanks,Jim
