Work Experience

Overview

The Work Experience curriculum is focused on providing real-world experience to students to enable them to gain the experience necessary to be successful in the working environment. The program is a combination of class hours and working hours. Students are placed in both paid and unpaid employment opportunities that enable them to apply the principles they learn in class in their working environment. This program recognizes the principle that learning takes place on the hob and awards college credit for knowledge and skills gained related to the college classroom.

Students earn credit at a rate of 1 semester unit per every 75 hours of paid work, or for every 60 hours of unpaid work. Students are able to earn up to 4 semester units per semester, or a total of 16 units total towards an Associate Degree.
